NESS 2024 Conference Workshop

GREENGAGE partners AIT, VRVis and KWMC will take part in a participatory workshop session on June 5, 2024, as part of the 16th NESS – Nordic Environmental Social Science Conference in Turku, Finland. Jointly, we will present our new contribution “Towards a Methodological Framework for Citizen Observatories to Promote Inclusive Urban Governance” developed in wider collaboration with other GREENGAGE partners including IBERCIVIS, DEUSTO, BUas, UWE, and GISAT.
The workshop, titled “Potential and Challenges of Citizen Science in Sustainability Transformations,” will examine the institutional, normative, and epistemological challenges of citizen science and its ability to drive transformative action and societal change in the face of sustainability issues. Along with other workshop participants, we will explore alternative forms of citizen engagement in science and discuss how these can contribute to rethinking the institutions and policies that shape sustainability transformation.
